About Rate Boost
Rate Boost is a review generation tool for small businesses. It exists because the software that does this well is priced for chains, and the software priced for small businesses mostly does not do it well.
Why we built it
Almost every small business owner knows they should ask customers for reviews. Very few do it consistently, because the ask happens at the busiest possible moment — while the customer is paying and you are already thinking about the next one. The result is a Google rating built almost entirely from people motivated enough to write a review unprompted, which skews negative.
The platforms that solve this properly — Birdeye, Podium and similar — start in the $300 to $400 per month range on annual contracts, because they are built for brands running dozens of locations. A single dental practice or plumbing business does not need listings management across fifty directories or a unified enterprise inbox. It needs requests going out reliably, and a rating that reflects the work.
Rate Boost does that one job, at a price a single-location business can justify.
What we are honest about
- Rate Boost is early. Website review widgets and AI-drafted review replies are on the roadmap and are not shipped yet. Where a competitor already does something we do not, our comparison pages say so.
- We do not do listings management, webchat, payments or a business phone line. If you need those, Birdeye or Podium are genuinely better fits and we will say so.
- We do not write, buy or generate reviews. Everything Rate Boost publishes comes from a real customer of yours, in their own words.
